East Lawrence Elementary School is located in the eastern part of Lawrence County.  The brick building was built in 1999 and is the newest school in the county.  It serves as a feeder school for East Lawrence Middle School.

There are 440 students in grades K through three.  There are 57 staff members, 34 teachers and 23 support workers.

The building consists of 40 classrooms including special needs, art, music, and speech classrooms.  A library, kitchen/cafeteria combination and a half size gymnasium are also a part of the building.  Clerical and administrative offices complete the layout of the campus, providing for the needs of all students and staff members.

The mission of East Lawrence Elementary School is to help all students to become confident, self-motivated, lifelong learners.  Our students' self worth is raised by positive relationships between students, parents and staff as we promote the school motto; I Can, Because I Think I Can.
