| The Hatton Schools
are located in the western part of Lawrence County, 4 miles
south of Al Hwy 157 on Al Hwy 101. Hatton is a rural,
unincorporated community. There have been 12 grades
located in Hatton since the early 1940s. The present
Hatton Elementary School site was selected and the permanent
building was started in 1960. The newest addition, seven
classrooms, was completed in 1996. There are 28 teachers and
22 support staff at Hatton Elementary. They serve about
400 students in grades kindergarten through six. The
seventh through twelfth grades are located at Hatton High School
that is located adjacent to Hatton Elementary.
The building consists of 22 regular education classrooms and
one special needs classroom. The adjoining library and
computer lab contain 37 student accessible computers. The
gymnasium and lunchroom are joined to the main building with
covered walkways. The campus also has three permanent
structures that house a science lab, art classroom, speech,
tutoring and the Indian Education program.
