| R. A. Hubbard High
School is located in North Courtland, 1 block south of Alabama
Highway 20. The school consists of grades Kindergarten
through 12 and is located on 10 acres of land. In 2003,
the R. A. Hubbard Elementary and Courtland High School merged to
become a unit school. There are over 250 students enrolled,
they are taught by 24 teachers and 12 support workers.
The facility consists of 28 regular classrooms, a band room,
mini gym (K-6), large gym (7-12), library, long distance
learning lab, science lab, 2 computer labs, vocational
agriscience shop, a family and consumer science department and
administrative offices. Adjacent to the main building is
the Junior ROTC building. It consists of eight rooms,
consisting of 2 classrooms, 2 offices, a supply room, a range
room and an arm's room. Attached to the JROTC building is
a weight room for athletics.
The mission of the school is to provide effective teaching
and promote learning in a supportive and encouraging environment
that empowers students to become life-long learners.
