Preparing for Enrollment at a Two-Year College
If a student does not benchmark on the ACT in reading and/or math (reading 21 and math 22), he/she will be required to take a placement test called the Accuplacer prior to enrollment at a two-year college. This test will determine which English and math course the student can enroll in as a beginning freshman.
Students may prepare for the exam by accessing the following link:
https://accuplacer.collegeboard.org/student/practice. Handheld calculators are not allowed. There is an on-screen calculator embedded for the Math portion of the exam.
The Accuplacer exam is not timed and usually takes a couple of hours. Students work at their own pace. Some may take less than two hours and some may require more.
