WELCOME TO THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT
The Maintenance Department is located at 915 Rosenwald Street Moulton, AL 35650. The Maintenance Department ensures that all school buildings are functioning correctly. The department also maintains and performs both preventive and responsive maintenance work on building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.) in both active facilities and in unused facilities and properties until sold or otherwise released from District control.
The Maintenance Department works with the schools on all major and minor repairs to enhance the teaching and learning environment. All work orders for the district are submitted using the online maintenance management program, www.schooldude.com. The department maintains 12 school sites, 1 technical school, 1 technology office, 1 alternative school (JJLC), 1 Family Education campus, the Transportation department, and other facilities of the system.
The Maintenance Department ensures: the maintenance and upkeep of all capital buildings; that janitorial and custodial services are provided; that all buildings are ensured through Risk Management; the bid process is continuous for any purchases utilizing school funds, and vendors are taken from the approved State Bid List.
All pertinent school information including school and building assessments, building details, capital plans, and other relevant details are kept current on the Alabama State Department website under the SAFE link.
The Lawrence County School System continues to remain in compliance with EPA's Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986. The school has conducted three year re-inspections in accordance with EPA's AHERA Act in November of 2010. The asbestos management plans are on file at the Main Office and at each individual school. They are available for review during normal business hours.
