B.S. Education in Biology
Mrs. Amy Speegle
I graduated from Hatton High School in 2001 and then received my Bachelor's degree from The University of North Alabama in 2006 to teach secondary science. I am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Libary Media from The University of West Alabama. I married my high school sweetheart in 2005 and we have two children, a boy and a girl. I love spending time with my family, vacationing, shopping, and reading. My faith and my family are two things that bring the most joy to my life.
I am currently in my 13th year of teaching at Lawrence County High School. I teach Environmental Science and AP Biology. I am the sponsor of our Spirit Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). I love teaching and interacting with students each day. I hope they learn something from me that will help them succeed in their future. My philosophy of eduation is that every student deserves the opportunity to learn. Taking advantage of that opportunity is up to them. All students do not learn the same way and many will not follow the typical elementary --> high school --> college path, and that is okay. I want them to learn life skills like how to be responsible, how to treat others and be respectful, and to believe that with hard work and determination they can achieve any goal set before them. I want them to know that success often requires sacrifice but in the end, it's worth it.
