I enlisted in the U.S. Army, September 1990 and completed Combat Infantry Training at Fort Benning, GA.

I served as a Rifleman, Automatic Rifleman, Grenadier, Fire Team Leader, Rifle Squad Leader, Scout Squad Leader, Unit Armor, Weapons Squad Leader, Rifle Platoon Sergeant, US Army Recruiter, S-5 Civil-Military Operations NCOIC, and Alabama Army National Guard.

My assignments included: 1st of the 15th Infantry Regiment, Schweinfurt, Germany; A Co 1st BN, 29th Infantry Training Regiment, Fort Benning, GA; B Co. 1st BN 26th Infantry Regiment, Schweinfurt, Germany, C Co. 1st BN 41 Infantry Regiment, Fort Riley, KS; US Army Recruiting Jackson BN, Jackson, MS; B Co. 1st BN 26th Infantry Regiment, Schweinfurt, Germany and Alabama Army National Guard Recruiting, Moulton, AL.   I have deployed multiple times in different parts of the world to include; Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Turkey and on the Gulf Coast during Hurricane Katrina Relief

I hold an Associate’s Degree in general studies from Barton Community College.  My military education includes: Combat Infantry Course, Combat Life Saver, German Head Start, Air Assault School, Instructor Course, Sniper Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, US Army Recruiting & Retention NCO Course, Hazardous Material Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, and the Army National Guard Recruiting & Retention NCO Course.

While on activity duty I received the following awards and decorations: Defense Meritorious Service Medal;  Army Commendation Medal (3rd OLC);  Army Achievement Medal (7th OLC);  Good Conduct Medal (5th Award);  National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star;  Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Iraq Campaign Medal (1 CS); Global War on Terrorism Service Medal;  NATO Medal; South West Asia Service Medal(2nd Award) NCO Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 2); Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; Joint Meritorious Unit Award;  Meritorious Unit Commendation; Army Superior Unit Award;  Combat Infantryman Badge (2nd Award);  the Expert Infantryman badge; Air Assault Badge; US Army Recruiting Badge; US Army National Guard Recruiting Badge; Driver & Mechanic Badge and the Expert Marksmanship Badge.

I retired from active duty January 31, 2012 after serving 21 years on active duty.  I currently reside in Moulton, AL with my wife Ulrike. We have been a residing in Moulton since 2006. We have two daughters and two granddaughters.
