Dr. Sidney T. Hearn

Dr. Sidney T. Hearn is Director of Bands at Lawrence County High School in Moulton, Alabama. He directs the LCHS Marching Band, concert band, jazz band, LCHS Chorus, and teaches guitar, beginnner band, and other courses in the music curriculum. Dr. Hearn received the Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of North Alabama in 1997, the Master of Education from Auburn University in 2004 and the Doctor of Philosophy from Auburn University in 2009. He studied trumpet with Dr. Ramon Vasquez at Auburn University and Dr. Edd Jones at the University of North Alabama. Dr. Hearn studied arranging with Dr. Johnnie Vinson, and wind conducting with Dr. Rick Good.

Dr. Hearn has been teaching in the musical arts since 1997 and maintains an active schedule as a consultant, adjudicator, designer, presenter, and guest conductor across the Midwest and Southeast. He continues to actively perform, teach, design, and adjudicate bands, drum corps, and winter guards across the nation. Dr. Hearn's pageantry teaching experience includes Spirit of Atlanta, Colts, Boston Crusaders, the Auburn University Marching Band, and numerous marching bands and winter guards across the Southeast. Prior to his appointment with Lawrence County High School, Dr. Hearn was Director of Bands at Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana.
