Mrs. Amy Speegle
I started Kindergarten at Hatton Elementary School in 1988 and graduated from Hatton High School in 2001. I then received my Bachelor's degree from The University of North Alabama in 2006 to teach secondary science. I taught Biology and Environmental Science for 13 years at Lawrence County High School. In 2019 I earned my Master's Degree in Library Media from The University of West Alabama. I am married and have two children, a boy, and a girl. I love spending time with my family, vacationing, shopping, and reading. My faith and my family are two things that bring the most joy to my life.
As I embark on my 14th year of teaching, I will be transitioning to a new adventure as the librarian here at Hatton Elementary school. I love teaching and interacting with students each day. I hope they learn something from me that will help them succeed in their future. My philosophy of education is that every student deserves the opportunity to learn and that learning doesn’t have to be boring! I was much older before I found my love for reading. I hope to help my students find books that intrigue them and hopefully spark a love for reading at an early age and then help them develop those skills as they mature. I am thankful to have this opportunity and excited to see what the adventure brings here at HES!
