Pylate, Kayla
Here’s a quick introduction to give you a little information about me. My name is Kayla Pylate. I am a Science teacher at East Lawrence High School. I am teaching Environmental Science this year. I am very excited for this school year because I am definitely an environmental enthusiast. I enjoy nature and all the animals that are around us. I enjoy horseback riding, hiking, primitive camping, swimming, boating, fishing, four wheeling and we recently added a 4 seater R-max side by side to our list of outdoor toys.
I also think of myself as a “jack of all trades”. I like to build things in my shop at home, do my own home improvements, and I also like just about any kind of art form from scrapbooks, painting, drawing, clay sculpting to needle felting, charcoal pencils, 3D puzzles, and metal figurines. You name it I have probably dabbled in it and if I haven’t then I am up for a new challenge.
I enjoy sharing the things I enjoy with my family and my students. I have been married for 11 years and have 2 daughters and a stepson. One daughter is named Galatia and she is 9 years old. The other daughter is Italia and she is 5. My stepson is Trustin and he is 21. We have 2 dogs, a horse, 6 chickens, 12 Lovebirds, 1 Quaker parrot, a rabbit, and I also created an aquascaping of the Amazon rainforest with Discus fish that I enjoy. I am so thrilled to be a part of the East Lawrence High School family. I feel truly blessed and I am looking forward to the adventure ahead.
Sincerely,
Kayla Pylate
