Lawrence County Teacher of the Year!

Teacher of the Year Christie Jordan

  Christie Jordan

Christie had taught in the Lawrence County School System for twenty-one years.  She has spent each of those years at East Lawrence—Go Eagles!!  Before teaching she was a student of East Lawrence Elementary and a 1992 graduate of East Lawrence High School.  She then went to the University of North Alabama to become a teacher since she was inspired by her grandmother who taught at Chalybeate School for many years before her death.   Christie earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Education from U.N.A.   She even ended up returning to East Lawrence to teach fourth grade in her former classroom where she attended kindergarten!  Mrs. Jordan has taught special education, fourth grade, and fifth grade since beginning her career.   She has been married to her wonderful husband, Brooks Jordan, for eighteen years, and they have a beautiful fourteen year-old daughter named Hayden. She also has a sweet little Cavalier King Charles puppy named Muffin.  Christie worships at Oak Grove Methodist Church where she has been blessed to have taught in the AWANA kids program for eight years.  She enjoys music, reading, and spending time with her family.
